GREAT TECH IN FINANCING

In Argentina, Kelly, a New Holland official dealer, signed a tractor trade agreement through grain-backed crypto tokens.

We take a look at the digital trends in agribusiness and CNH Industrial advances in Argentina.

This is the first transaction of agricultural machinery settled with digital assets. The sale of the TD5.110 tractor was managed with the support of CNH Industrial Capital and Agrotoken, a global platform used to tokenize agricultural commodities. This represents a new milestone in the company’s recent evolution and reinforces its stand on adding new alternatives to traditional ways of doing business.

Agribusiness one step ahead

In times marked by constant changes and the digital economy, our dealers are betting on new ways of trading and on the agility of its processes with CNH Industrial support. This sets a precedent that brings us, once again, closer to the needs of our customers.

Tomás Liceda Rosasco, New Holland Commercial Manager in Argentina, said: “The digital economy is already part of our lives, and this is a sign of the potential for evolution and development in agribusinesses." Similarly, Ariel Converso, Head of CNH Industrial Capital in Argentina, noted: “We encourage digitization because it makes us more flexible and it allows us to innovate in terms of simplicity and agility. We are glad to bring Agrotoken into our businesses and into our customers' businesses."

Commodities Tokens: How do they work?

Each Agrotoken is backed by one ton of grain that the customer has sold and delivered to a storage facility. This is validated through a safe and transparent system named PoGR, Proof of Grain Reserve. This process has a great advantage: it can be audited at all times and is decentralized.

We spoke with Matías Arias, Commercial Representative of CNH Industrial Capital Argentina, who shared his view on these developments. He also explained that the CNH Industrial Capital team is undergoing a digitization process that opens new opportunities for agribusiness and seeks to streamline interaction with customers. With regards to selling the tractor with grain-backed tokens he said: “The process was positive and challenging”. Without doubt, a sign of how CNH Industrial Capital is opening up to the digital community, with several benefits.

Among them, the possibility of using agricultural currencies for different kinds of transactions, such as checking the value of grains in real time, acquiring agricultural equipment and machinery, and applying for grain-backed loans. The next step will be a “credit card” for everyday expenses.

As for innovation applied to transactions, Matias added: “The new tools aim to reduce bureaucratic processes to make them more agile.” This means that they were conceived and designed to execute actions intuitively.

Looking ahead

Argentina is experiencing the rise of digital economies and agribusiness is no stranger to this phenomenon. Matías Arias accounts for this process by mentioning two important sources of innovation. First, telemetry applied to agricultural machinery gathers a large volume of information connected to productivity, such as hours worked and grain quality. Secondly, the mass consumption market with digital wallets, marketplace, crowdfunding, with low costs and large volumes enable tests to be performed.

“A quick look at these two sources of innovation is enough to envision a future where the management of the information obtained through these developments, further fused into other technologies (Business Intelligence, blockchain, etc.), allows us to provide agile, customized, timely and convenient financing options for clients who wish to purchase agricultural machinery or even before the decision to purchase or renew machinery,” he concluded.

TRANSFORMING CAREER OPPORTUNITIES FOR A VAST GROUP OF WOMEN

The company has recently offered free professional qualification courses for women from Sorocaba, Brazil. The initiative was carried out through Emprega Mais (Employ More), a federal program that aims to promote training and professional accreditation according to the demands of the manufacturing sector. The courses taught by SENAI Sorocaba, a partner institution of CNH Industrial, were offered in the areas of Logistics Operator, Mechanical Adjuster, Production Line Feeder and Quality Inspector.

CNH Industrial intentionally focused exclusively on women to increase the qualification and participation of women in the industrial sector by conducting the first edition of the Employ More Program, in addition to working on the inclusion of women from local communities, aimed at the social and economic recovery of families in need during the post-pandemic period.

In total, 78 women have already graduated from the course and 18 have been hired by CNH Industrial. Read what some of the students who successfully graduated and were subsequently hired by CNH Industrial had to say about the experience.

"I would like to say that it was the realization of a dream, but in fact it was not, because I never had a dream like it. Today thanks to CNH Industrial I can say that at the age of 27, I AM A WELDER. The Employ More Women changed my life, opened my eyes to knowledge and the lesson that remained was that there is nothing more authentic than generating your own light and nothing nobler than lighting those of others. I know this is just the beginning, but we all go together, because together we are stronger." Patricia Almeida, Welder

"I had the honor and luck to participate in the Program Employ More of which CNH Industrial is part of and this changed the course of my professional life. Of course, the challenge of returning to study to qualify requires effort, especially in a project designed for women, because we know that we have more than one journey, with children, the home and other things .... but I believe that every effort has its reward and I am not wrong, I can say that anything is possible if we persist and believe, and today, I am employed in the best company in Brazil and I can proudly say that I AM CNH Industrial!"
